Sadler Pilots MONOPOLY® at McDonald's® Dodge at Talladega
STATESVILLE, N.C. - In the game of MONOPOLY®,
Elliott Sadler always wants to be the racecar. This weekend at Talladega
Superspeedway, Sadler will have his chance as he drives the No. 19
MONOPOLY at McDonald's® Dodge on the 2.66-mile, high-banked Alabama
racetrack.
"If racing were like MONOPOLY- Talladega would be Park Place," said
Sadler. "Talladega is one of the race tracks that everyone wants to
"own" or finish their best. We are hoping that our good friend, Mr.
MONOPOLY, can provide us with some good luck for a great day and we can
help McDonald's kick off its MONOPOLY game with a big win."
Sadler's had several memorable moments at Talladega, including winning
the pole position three times and recording a third-place finish in the
spring of 2003.
This weekend marks the final visit to a restrictor place racetrack for
the 2008 campaign. To date, the No. 19 Dodge has recorded mixed results
on the restrictor plate racetracks - a sixth-place finish to kick off
the 2008 season at Daytona, a 19th-place finish at Talladega in April,
and a 39th-place finish in Daytona in July.
Sadler is coming off a 10th-place finish last weekend at Kansas
Speedway.
Elliott Sadler Quotes
On Talladega:
"Talladega is Talladega. It is the wild card of all the racetracks that
we visit. You can go from first to fifteenth in less than a second. It
is close, exciting racing - literally less than an inch apart at times.
One false move and you not only end your day, but could end the day of
half the field. It is exciting to watch and always makes for great
finishes, but from a drivers perspective it is all about focus, control
and a little bit of luck. It's a 200 mph chess match and every move you
make counts!"
On Past Talladega Experiences:
"I've had some fast cars with a chance or two to
contend for a win and also some of the most terrifying experiences of my
racing career at Talladega. It's no secret that I have had a couple of
bad wrecks where I've flipped and things like that, luckily I've always
been able to walk away. The biggest thing for us is to staying out of
trouble and run a good clean race - if we can do that we'll be right
there at the end. Our restrictor plate program has been getting better
and better. We led a few laps at Talladega in the spring and had a
top-10 run going until we were caught up in the wreck on the last lap."
Chassis Info:
The No. 19 McDonald's/Monopoly Dodge is racing chassis No. 260; which is
new and has never been raced. Chassis No. 222 will serve as the backup.
