Elliott Sadler does the double this weekend at California Speedway

Will pilot the No. 9 Wisk Dodge Charger in Nationwide Series race

Elliott Sadler will be a busy driver this weekend competing in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races at California Speedway. Nationwide Series racing isn't anything new to the Emporia, Va. native. This will be his first NNS start since Phoenix International Raceway of last year, but first at California Speedway.

Before moving his way into the Sprint Cup Series, Sadler won five races in 120 Nationwide Series starts.

Elliott Sadler Quotes

On returning to the Nationwide Series:  "I have always loved racing in this division. I got my start here, had a blast here and was very successful in the years I drove full-time in this division. When a lot of us other Sprint Cup drivers are in a race, it raises the competition level for everyone in the race. We get to compete against each other in a shorter race with a much different car than our new Sprint Cup ones.
"I like racing against the regular Nationwide Series drivers because they race you so hard. They have everything on the line and only race to run to earn all their points. They don't cut you any slack out there; and that's fine with me. I like racing hard.

On the team:  "Kirk (Almquist - Team Director) and that team always put together a great car for us. Whether it's me, Kasey (Kahne), Patrick (Carpentier) or Chase Miller driving the car; you know it's going to be a contender.  California is a big, flat track where you really have to the car handling well into and out of the corners. The motor guys are working extra to make sure they give us all the horsepower needed because those long straightaways take a lot of power to get down. We race late in the day, so we won't have to worry about hot track or air temperatures; which is always good. Kasey won two races last year with the Nationwide team, now it's my turn to get one for them"

This week's Dodge Charger: Chassis No. 022. New car and body; never been raced.
