RACE PREVIEW
STATESVILLE,
N.C. – Elliott Sadler waited until he was heading back home to race in
Richmond, Virginia before making a very special announcement this week -
he and his wife Amanda are expecting the arrival of their first child in
March.
The Emporia, Va. native made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon
during his weekly segment on Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody.
Sadler Quotes
SADLER ON RICHMOND: “The Richmond race in the fall is a huge race for
everyone. Teams are all jockeying for position and trying to get in the
Chase. The No. 19 Dodge is out of contention for a spot, but we’re still
doing everything we can to help the No. 9 team get into the Chase. The
win at Atlanta was big for the RPM team and now to get a Petty car into
the Chase would really be special. We’ll all be sharing information and
doing our part to help the No. 9 this week.”
ON THE ADDITION TO THE SADLER FAMILY: “I couldn’t be any happier. Amanda
and I want to have a big family with three or four kids, so we figured
it was time to get started. We’ve known for a little while now, but
thought it’d be special to share the news with friends and family this
week as we head to Richmond. This is very special for us and something
we both knew we wanted to happen soon. We are expecting the baby
sometime in March and have a special plan for sharing the sex of our
baby with our families. We are going to have the doctor put the sex of
the baby in a envelope and not tell anyone, then take everyone out to
dinner and open the envelope as a group so we all share the experience
together.”
