GLEN RACE PREVIEW
STATESVILLE,
N.C. - Richard Petty Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne may have won the
race at Sonoma, but Elliott Sadler came from two laps down at one point
in the race to finish in the top-10. Believe it or not, few drivers are
as excited to head to Watkins Glen this week as Elliott Sadler and the
No. 19 Best Buy team. Sadler has four top-10 finishes in his last 10
road course races, and has finished 19th or better in every race. In
fact, Sadler is one of only five drivers to compete in the last 10 races
at Watkins Glen and has finished 15th or better in five of the last six
races at the upstate New York road course.
Sadler Quotes
ON WATKINS GLEN: "Watkins Glen is going to be probably the most fun race
of the year to watch on TV with the double-file restarts. It's a big,
wide race track that should allow for a lot of passing and some really
great racing. I think it is going to be crazy from the drivers
perspective, but just like with any road course-the trick is staying on
the track and hitting your marks."
ON ROAD COURSE RACING: "The two road courses that we visit each year are
very different, so there are not a whole lot of similarities. The
biggest key to any road course race is learning the racetrack. They are
very technical compared to most of the ovals that we visit and a driver
can have a lot more influence than they do at an oval. Staying on track,
hitting your spot and being there at the end are really the most
important parts to any road course."
