July 22nd, 2009:  Indy, Twitter and New Engine

I just finished up a round on golf in Emporia. I have a couple of meetings this afternoon and then I'm off to Indy first thing in the morning. I'm speaking to a group of kids about safe driving. You know - no texting, talking on the phone, playing with the radio, etc. while you're driving. If one kid listens it'll be worth my time and I really appreciate Allstate for organizing it.

Speaking of Indy, 5 fan club members and their guests won tickets to Indy through a little trivia deal I did on Twitter. I thought it was pretty cool. Hopefully they did, too. I've enjoyed Twitter. I enjoy updating you guys but I also enjoy following Blake Shelton, Brett my spotter, my brother Hermie, Big John and Shaq. It kinda helps you keep up with everybody. Blake is a complete smart-aleck on there - some things never change.

I'm stoked about the new engine this weekend. Hopefully we'll be able to learn some things from the 9 car. It's tough to help one another out when you're in different equipment. This weekend will be the first time since May, other than Sonoma, where we're in similar cars. I love this race track. Track position and pit stops will be important and the restarts will be insane.

I plan on having a little fun while in town, too. Blake is playing on Friday night and I'll definitely find time for a shrimp cocktail at St. Elmo's before the weekend is over.

Hopefully we'll have a good run this weekend and if you don't have your fan club tickets to the bowling event in October in Charlotte you may want to order them soon. Seats are just about gone.

We're in Best Buy colors this weekend so keep your eyes open for the Blue and Yellow No. 19. Until next time...
